Who we are
QuarterlyWise is an independent, UK-based information site about Making Tax Digital. This policy explains what happens to your information if you use our contact form. You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@quarterlywise.co.uk.
What we collect
When you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, telephone number, and message you provide, along with the IP address your message was sent from and the date and time you sent it. We don't currently use any tracking or analytics cookies on this site — if that changes (for example, if we add Google Analytics), we'll update this policy first.
Why we collect it
- To reply to you. We use your name, email, and phone number to answer your enquiry. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in responding to messages sent to us.
- To reduce spam and fraud. We record the IP address of every submission so we can identify and block spam or fraudulent messages. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in keeping the form usable and protecting it from abuse.
- To refer you to a local accountant, but only if you explicitly ask us to. Our contact form has a separate, optional tick box for this. If — and only if — you tick it, we'll share your name, email address, and phone number with a firm of accountants in the Birmingham & Black Country area that we've worked with for a number of years, so they can get in touch with you directly. We may receive a referral fee if you become their client; see our disclaimer for detail. The legal basis for this is your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We share it only with: our hosting and email provider (Hostinger), who process it on our behalf to run this website and deliver our emails; and, only with your explicit separate consent given via the contact form, the accountancy firm described above.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form submissions for up to 24 months from the date you contact us, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask us what information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it's wrong, to have it deleted, to object to how we use it, or to ask us to restrict how we use it. To exercise any of these rights, email info@quarterlywise.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), if you're unhappy with how we've handled your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the site changes. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated version.
